A passion for netball

We cater for all players from serious to those returning to netball, or who have never played before with 12 teams in grades from Premier 2 to Senior 2. We also encourage and support anyone wanting to take up coaching or umpiring with any costs covered by the club. We love the sport of netball and pass that onto all our members. There is no segregation between our top and bottom teams.

From the glamour of prize giving to the grit of a team 'mud run', with monthly club nights in between. Find out how we keep it fun on and off the court.

Fitness & wellbeing

Because there is no fitness like netball fitness, we provide sessions that can enhance your enjoyment of the game and prevent injury.

Grow your game

From playing, umpiring or coaching – we will be your biggest supporters. In all areas of netball development, find out more about what we can do for you!

Where and when we play

ASB Arena, 72 Kemp st, Kilbirnie, Wellington

Monday night training

From ball skills and fitness drills, we have club training at ASB Stadium on Monday nights. Some teams practice on additional days depending on requirements.

Game day Saturday

On Saturdays we take what we've learnt on Monday and leave it all on the court! But the day doesn't stop there, you'll often find a 'not so quiet' crowd of Kia Ora supporters cheering on our teams after their own games.

Then it's off to debrief and celebrate with a drink at one of our sponsors, especially if it's club night (the first Saturday of the month).

Meet the people that make it happen

Gayle Hare
Club president

Gayle describes her role as being a mixture of Royalty, Boss, Mum, Fanatic. She started with the club as a player 42 years ago at the age of 2... and has coached Kia Ora teams through the grades from Senior One to Premier 2. Her message to people in the club - you know you have picked the right club to join, you will be part of the Kia Ora family for life!

Claire Campbell
Club Captain

Tessa Brown

Tess coaches, plays and finances Kia Ora Netball. Although on court she is known as No Bombs Tess, she is the nicest debt collector you will ever meet. To relax she likes to artfully photograph drinking vessels.

Ashleigh De Vries

Ashleigh De Vries has been Club Secretary for 6 years. She brings to the role a high standard of literacy and sparkling wit and describes herself as ‘the keeper of all knowledge’.
