Today I ate a cupcake without sprinkles. Diets are hard!!

Date Played: 4/29/2017

Kia Ora 2 vs Tawa 1

Kia Ora Score: 26

Opposition Score: 28

The game was Survival of the fittest...& the ones who had eaten the least amount of cupcakes.

First game had all of us a bit nervous with a few butterflies in the stomach. We started with a bit of team bonding by way of a Rugby League type photo with arms crossed and a staunch look. Turns out Anna may need to give a few lessons to the others on how to look staunch.......

The game was neck and neck for the majority of the first two quarters. Then they managed to break our pass in the third quarter and we couldn't quite grab it back. Our defensive end of Courtnee, Ash and Georgia were strong from the outset, pulling in numerous tips and hunting every ball. They had their work cut out for them given the sheer speed and accuracy of the opposition GA in particular (wonder if she has thought about what club she is wanting to play for when she leaves school - we should start grooming her... although that sounds slightly dodgy. Anyway I digress).

Our middies of Emma (MVP), Heidi, Erin and Jess did a fantastic job of bringing the ball through court and feeding it into the shooting circle of Anna and Shelby who finished the job for us.
At times we were a little panicky and flat but all in all it was a fantastic first hit out. We got the point for being within 3 so happy with that!

The season is looking to be a cracker!
