The game was: Intense! What a rollercoaster week we had with limited training and the realisation that Tamara was away for basketball, quickly followed by both Abbie and Kirstin suffering from worsening injuries. Cue panicking coach and a frantic search for subs and some tactical planning to mske our changed line upnwork. .

A highlight was : After a very slow start everyone settled in to their game and we started the fight back - a few turnovers from the very rare misses from the Vic shooters, a tip here and there and absolute patience on attack saw us take a one goal lead into what would prove to be a game winning last quarter. Abbie (of the bung knee) moved into Centre with Rosie taking the WA bib for the first time in three years and after a few minutes to settle in we took it to a tiring Vic side with everyone stepping up a gear, trusting each other and just letting the ball go to stretch out to the five goal margin we ended up with. It was great to see us keep our structures and timing when things were tough and giving it everything against a very very good Vic team.

A special mention to: While everyone warranted an MVP award this week for their calmness and effort the ultimate award went to Abbie who overcame her injury woes (and doctor's orders.....sssshhhhh) to play a complete blinder including an intercept and drawing a very timely contact call from her partner. Fingers crossed that her recovery continues this week ahead of finals!

Following this game we plan to...: Rest and recover before focusing on our game and what we can do to play our best against East in what will be a tough tough final!

Thanks to: The whole team for their commitment, teamwork, humour and confidence during the week when I was slowly losing the plot as the injuries and absences saw me pondering a return from retirement to provide cover in the midcourt (shudder). Thanks also to Jacs, Erin, Francie and JT for the support from the sideline, you're more than welcome to come next week.
