The game was: The pinnacle of a great season! What an achievement to make the PR1 final, after a pretty great season. We have had the same 10 girls all year and their spirit, camaraderie and absolute commitment was evident before, during and after every game and this week was no exception. We have come up against this very good East team twice this season with honours shared but we knew it would be tough, and it was! Every girl sported sparkly hair ribbons because it is hard to take yourself too seriously when you are wearing sparkly ribbons and we play best when we are having fun! All the girls also had a word to remind them of their goal on court - Committed, Deliberate, Confident, Strong, Crafty, Varied, Disciplined, Calm and Controlled were our equivalent of the famous dwarves this week and everyone lived up to their name thats for sure!

A highlight was : As the score shows, this was a defensive game with turnovers galore and everyone did their bit from one end to the other. In the end the smothering defence from East pushed us into mistakes which saw us slip behind on the scoreboard but we never gave up and when the final whistle went we knew we'd done our best and what else can you ask for. Hard luck ladies, I am so sorry we didn't quite make it to the trophy but what an effort!

A special mention to: Thanks to Kate, Anna, Rosie, Tee, Kirstin, Abbie, Amy, Bridget, Claire and Box - 10 girls who have given their all for 19 weeks and who have smiled, laughed and fought their way through every game. I have had a great time being your coach and learning alongside you and I look forward to seeing you in the off season and at trials in 2017!

Thanks to: All the supporters and parents for their presence and encouragement and to East for a great game, congratulations to you ladies and good luck for Prem 3 next year.
