Ticking off those team goals

The game was: A good one...if not one of our best ones! It was really nice to get this result given we played this team first game up this season and at that time the scoreboard told a completely different story!

A highlight was : We had three four goals this week: a win, 80% shooting, 10 intercepts and 70% conversion of our turnovers. Tick, tick, tick, tick! Every single person contributed to this team effort, and we did so well to really step up to force errors from Vic and limit our own, and even when we made mistakes we often got the ball straight back....just ask Tamara who threw a bad pass only to intercept it back immediately and feed to Kate in the same move, classy! Anna and Kate had blinders this week, 35/42 shooting and a fair few rebounds meant all the hard work through court was rewarded. All seven players on court at any time did their jobs superbly on both attack and defence and never stopped fighting ( an observation made after the game by a very impressed ref!).

A special mention to: A few mentions this week....Box for five intercepts in 20 mins, Abbie for her MVP performance in the mid court with pin point feeding and positioning and forcing a number of turnovers on D, and Anna for her MVP performance in the shooting circle and for doing a power of work when Vic double teamed Kate and made feeding difficult. But really....EVERYONE played well enough for player of the day honours this weekend!

Following this game we plan to...: Work on some set plays to help us settle in to our game quickly, our first few minutes each quarter were a little slow as we settled combos so having some easy plays should help that.

Thanks to: Gayle for supporting on her week off
