What a fight back

Date Played: 7/8/2016

Kia Ora Team: Kia Ora 6

Opposition Team Name: SMOG 8

Kia Ora Score: 27

Opposition Score: 31

The game was: Started off with our trademark average first quarter, but had an incredible second where we fought back from 9-10 behind, to bring it within 2! Would have only lost by 3, but a last minute penalty (falling in, whoops by me!) allowed them to have the last say.

A highlight was : We didn't give up! We made tweaks to the way we were playing and it paid off! Our flow throughout the court finally came together through the court, something we've been working on, and our defensive pressure was incredible throughout the court, putting a lot of pressure on the other team. We were going into the game with 8 players, but turns out we got Mayce's return date wrong, so we knew that we had to play hard with the seven we had, and that is exactly what we did.

A special mention to: Player of the day went to Penny for her intense pressure in the WD position. It was amazing to have that pressure on the circle edge to disrupt the feeds into the shooters.

Following this game we plan to...: Cleaning up our passing to ensure we can continue our flow down the court. And also to make sure that we play our own game in the first quarter to ensure that we start on the right foot.

Thanks to: Our supporters! Its always nice to have friends and family members cheering us on :) And also to Penny's husband for being our score keeper!
