Everyone Played a Part in Team 8's Victory over St Francis 3

Date Played: 6/18/2016

Kia Ora Team: Team 8

Opposition Team Name: St Francis 3

Kia Ora Score: 29

Opposition Score: 25

The game was: This win had a feel good feeling about it. It was a competitive game, yet we never doubted ourselves in a performance against a Team that was graded above us last week.

A highlight was : It is always tricky playing an unfamiliar team but whoever we are up against, our goal is to always start strong with the aim of having at least a 3 goal buffer after the 1st Quarter. Having a lead sets us up for the rest of the game in terms of momentum and confidence. As it happens, the 4 goal lead the team created after the 1st quarter, was actually the winning margin for us at the final buzzer! The game had a lot of positive points - high shooting percentage, reduced team turnovers, more gains from the opposition which is a result from solid defence. What is pleasing to see from the side line, is a team that is working together better, trusting each other and most of all enjoying themselves!

Well done Team 8, you girls rock!

A special mention to: It was great to have Co-Coach Erin there watching the team play for the first time. Stand out players there are many, but picking a player of the day will be difficult, so I will have to sleep on that one until Monday night practice!

Following this game we plan to...:

Thanks to: Our supporters who came to cheer us on including Tenille for being there as a super sub, just in case!
