The worst time to have a heart attack is during a game of charades

Date Played: 5/24/2016

Kia Ora Team: Kia Ora 3

Opposition Team Name: Wellington East 7

Kia Ora Score: 29

Opposition Score: 28

The game was: Heart stopping! (hence the title of this weeks report...)

A highlight was : This game was going to be even tougher than last weeks and we knew we weren't going to be having an easy time of it. Nor did we, but we triumphed through our sheer tenacity, straight line drives and work feeding the circle. This was something we practiced at training and as a coach it is always a pleasure to see practice come to life when it counts.

As expected, and is normal at this level, it was a very physical game but we stayed strong and didn't let a couple of bad ref calls in the dying minutes rattle us to come away with a well deserved win.

I am loving the way the team is gelling together - this week's change up at 1/4 and 1/2 time didn't take anything away from the play. The different combinations just carried on as if there hadn't been a change.

We are now 3rd on the table - but separated from 2nd by a mere tiny goal differential.

A special mention to: Katy and her go go gadget arms - a spectacular effort in the defensive circle. I lost count of the number of rebounds and intercepts she got. Great commitment and a great job!

One more special mention to Megan who farewells her tonsils on Monday - good luck for the surgery Megan and looking forward to having you back to full fitness soon:)

Following this game we plan to...: Continue to build on the combinations we have established and work on the circle edge/defensive positioning.
